
Badgers Close Regular Season Ranked Sixth

After winning the 17th Big Ten Title in school history, the Wisconsin men's basketball team (26-4, 16-2 Big Ten) finished the regular season ranked No. 6 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll and eighth in the AP Poll.
Last week the Badgers beat Penn State 77-41 on Senior Night to clinch a share of the 2008 Big Ten Championship then took down Northwestern 65-52 to claim the outright title.
The top-five was nearly unchanged as North Carolina remained the No. 1 team followed by UCLA, Memphis, Tennessee and Kansas. In the media poll, UNC is No. 1, Memphis is second, UCLA third and Tennessee and Kansas rounding out the top-five
The Badgers are one of four teams from the Big Ten in the top-25. Purdue is No. 16/17, Michigan State finishes the season 19th in the coahces and 20th in the AP, while Indiana is ranked 20th in the USA Today and 22nd in the AP.
Wisconsin opens up post-season play at the 2008 Big Ten Tournament on Friday, March 14, at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind. The Badgers will play the winner of the Iowa/Michigan game at 11 a.m.
