
Badgers remain No. 8

After an idle week, the Wisconsin football team (3-0) is still ranked as the No. 8 team in the country in the pollId=2&seasonYear=2008"> --> USA Today Coaches Poll . In the pollId=1&seasonYear=2008"> --> Associated Press Poll the Badgers dropped a spot down to No. 9. The top-5 in the coaches poll remained the same with USC leading the pack followed by Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida and Missouri. In the AP Poll, LSU jumped Missouri for the No. 5 spot.
Wisconsin next travels to Ann Arbor to face Michigan at 2:30 p.m. CT on Sept. 27.
Penn State beat Temple 45-3 and moved up from No. 15/16 to 12/12 while Ohio State moved up from No. 14 to 13 in the coaches poll but fell from No. 13 to No. 14 in the AP after a 28-10 win over Troy. Illinois (also idle) moved up from No. 23 to 21 in the coaches poll and remained at No. 22 in the AP.
East Carolina, West Virginia, Oregon and Florida State fell from the rankings while Boise State, previously unranked jumped into the rankings at No. 19/20.
