Badger Ridge Men's Results 
VERONA, Wis. -- The Badgers hosted their final home meet of the season on Saturday Oct. 24 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course, as Wisconsin runners swept the top six spots.
The conditions were a bit chilly with a noticeable amount of wind, but that didn’t hamper unattached UW freshman Alex Brill, who won the 8k race in a time of 25:48.9.
“The conditions weren’t as bad as I was expecting because it’s been raining nonstop for two days,” said the Madison native, Brill. “The drainage system on the course really helped. The temperature was a little chilly but I’ve been running in it for the past month or so, so we were prepared.”
The Badger Ridge Run included several local teams and other UW schools, including UW-Whitewater and UW-Plateville.
“It was great having my teammates around me during the race,” Brill said of his teammates taking spots two through six. “This is the last race of the season so this is a great way to finish it off.”
Redshirt freshman Daniel Buechel was next to finish for the Badgers as the only person running in uniform for the UW in the race. He finished in a time of 26:10.1.
Unattached freshmen Donald Schwaderer and Drew Shields finished in third and fourth place, respectively, in times of 26:20.3 and 26:25.2.
Freshmen Michael Brice and Robel Kebede also ran unattached, rounding out the top six finishers. Brice came in fifth place with a time of 26:47.9 and Kebede finished sixth in 27:07.2.
Up next for the Badgers is a defense of their incredible 10-straight Big Ten title run. Wisconsin will travel to University Park, Pa. as Penn State hosts the Big Ten Championships on Sunday Nov. 1.
