MADISON, Wis. -- For the second year in a row, sophomore Caitlin Comfort earned second-team all-Big Ten honors at the Big Ten Championships. Comfort received these accolades after her 10th-place finish in the 6-kilometer meet which took place at University Park, Pa.
Comfort finished first for the Badgers and 10th overall out of the 97 runners. She crossed the finish line in 20:54, a 24-second improvement over her time at last year's meet. Her 10th-place finish was a two spot improvement on her placement last year.
No. 18-ranked Penn State won the meet with 71 points. No.13 Illinois earned second-place with 77 points followed by No. 15 Minnesota with 80 points. As a team, Wisconsin placed 10th in the meet.
Following Comfort was freshman Kiah Ehrke who placed 30th with a time of 21:31. Junior Karlye Wolff was next in line for Wisconsin, placing 69th overall in 22:56, followed by sophomore Megan Beers at 72nd with a time of 23:10.
The Badgers resume action on Nov. 14 when they head to Bloomington, Ind., for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional.
