
Tolzien named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin quarterback Scott Tolzien was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Michigan, the conference announced on Sunday. It is the second time this season Tolzien has been honored by the Big Ten making him the first UW quarterback in school history to earn multiple Big Ten Player of the Week honors in the same season.
Tolzien tied his career high (set earlier this season against Michigan State) with four touchdown passes against Michigan, matching the third-best single-game TD total in school history. Tolzien is just the third quarterback in school history to have two four-touchdown games in the same season (Darrell Bevell – 1993 and Jim Sorgi – 2003 are the other two). Tolzien’s 14 TD passes this season are tied for the 10th-most in school history and already three more than UW had all of last season.
Tolzien also added a one-yard TD run, his first of the season. He tied the school record for touchdowns responsible for with five, accomplished 13 other times in UW history.
Tolzien and the Badgers close out the Big Ten season this Saturday at Northwestern. That game will start at 2:30 p.m. CT and be televised by the Big Ten Network.
