The Wisconsin softball team will travel to East Lansing, Mich. this weekend as it returns to conference play with a two-game series against Michigan State. Saturday 's game set for 1 p.m. CT and Sunday's game at 12 p.m.

The Badgers (14-35, 2-12 Big Ten) are coming off a 2-0 win over Northern Illinois on Wednesday as senior Leah Vanevenhoven struck out seven in the complete-game shutout. UW has lost its last five meetings with the Spartans and trail in the all-time series, 21-9.
Michigan State (19-26, 3-12 Big Ten) has won five of its last seven, including a conference win over Penn State and two over Minnesota. The Spartans are led by Gina Mondo who is hitting .404 with 22 RBIs and 26 runs scored off of 44 hits. Lindsey Hansen boasts a team-high 10 home runs, 28 RBIs and 29 runs scored.
MSU pitcher Lauren Kramer leads the team with a 9-11 record and 3.83 ERA with 129 innings pitched striking out 106 batters. Megan Hair has thrown 109 innings and has a 4.88 ERA to go along with a 5-9 record.
The Badgers are led by Jen Krueger's .309 batting average, 18 runs scored and 18 stolen bases (one away from tying UW's single-season record of 19). Senior Theresa Boruta has 10 stolen bases of her own, including a steal of home plate in UW 's 2-0 win over NIU, and is hitting .248.
Senior Leah Vanevenhoven has been hot as of late, starting the last six-straight games in the circle and has thrown 41 innings striking out 35 in those six games. Vanevenhoven has a 3.28 ERA and a 6-13 record on the season throwing 136.2 innings while striking out 102 batters.
