MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin swimming and diving teams continued action at the USA Swimming Central Zone Speedo Champions Series meet at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis on Thursday night. The four-day event takes place in a long-course pool, as compared to the short-course setup featured during the collegiate season.
The Badgers took control of the 100-meter backstroke, earning three of the top eight spots.
Junior Maggie Meyer took home the title as she finished first with a mark of 1:01.27, setting a new Wisconsin record for long-course performance in the event in the process. Meyer bested the old mark of 1:01.54 set by Susan Johnson at College Station, Texas, on March 19, 2004.

In the 400 IM, junior Abby Soderholm took seventh place as she swam to a time of 5:04.71.
