MADISON, Wis. -- Without the fanfare of past seasons, Bo Ryan and the Wisconsin men's basketball team officially tipped off the season with a two-hour practice at the Nicholas-Johnson Pavilion Saturday morning. With no "Night of the Grateful Red" or "Field House Madness" on tap, the Badgers instead opted for a workman-like approach to start the season.
Notables:
- Ryan began the season how he always does: passing and catching drills
- UW stressed fundamentals that are a signature of the team: ball-handling, partner passing, ball fakes, defending the baseline, transition defense, rebounding
- Preseason All-America candidate Jordan Taylor participated in the full practice without issue
- Freshman George Marshall suffered the first bloody nose of the season during a block/charge drill
