MADISON, Wis. -- Junior Brady Hammon led the Wisconsin men’s track and field team Friday as the Badgers opened the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa.

One of only four Badgers competing Friday, Hammon finished 28th out of 129 total runners in the 200 meters, with his time of 22.05 good for a new personal best.

Senior Chas DeMers earned 36th place with a time of 22.22, and senior Andrew Milenkovski crossed the line at 22.39 to finish in 53rd place.

Senior Pat Nichols was the lone Badger to compete in the field events and finished ninth overall in the high jump with a clearance of 6 feet, 5 inches.

The Badgers continue competing in the Iowa State Classic Saturday at 10 a.m., and also compete in the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash., where events also begin at 10 a.m.
