Softball to hold walk-on tryouts Sept. 13

MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin softball team will be holding walk-on tryouts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at Goodman Diamond. Students interested in trying out should contact assistant coach Randy Schneider at rds@athletics.wisc.edu.
There will be an informational meeting on Friday, Sept. 2 at 4:00 p.m. in Kellner Hall. The coaching staff will distribute all necessary paperwork, including a fall calendar, and also discuss the evaluation process. Student-athletes will be evaluated on arm strength, hitting mechanics, fielding mechanics, speed and softball knowledge.
This will be the only tryout for the 2011-2012 season.
