FOOTBALL
This Week:
The Badgers put the wraps on spring practice with the 2012 Wisconsin Football Spring Game at 4 p.m. Saturday inside Camp Randall Stadium. The annual scrimmage between the Cardinal and White teams closes out a day that also includes the Crazylegs Classic at 10 a.m. and the Badger Sports Kids Fair at 2 p.m.

Last Week:
The Badgers have conducted 11 practices since reconvening for the spring and take the field three more times this week before Saturday’s spring game.

Need to Know:
Tickets for the 2012 Wisconsin Football Spring Game are on sale at UWBadgers.com and will be available at Camp Randall on game day. All proceeds from the $5 tickets benefit the UW Center for Nonprofits to support internships for UW students.

Good to Know:
The spring game will stream live on InsideBadgerSports.com and BTN2Go at 4 p.m. (CT) Saturday. You can catch highlights on BTN’s “Big Ten Tonight Spring Football Edition” at 7 p.m., and BTN will also televise the game on a tape-delay basis at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

SOFTBALL
This Week:
Wisconsin (27-13, 11-4 Big Ten) hosts Indiana State in a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday, April 25, before traveling to West Lafayette, Ind. for a Big Ten Conference weekend series with Purdue on April 28-29.

Last Week: The Badgers swept Penn State in a Big Ten three-game series at Goodman Diamond April 21-22. The series sweep over the Nittany Lions was the first for the Badgers since the 1997 season. Saturday’s 4-1 win over PSU earned the Badgers their 25th win in 38 games, marking the quickest UW team to reach 25 wins. In Saturday’s night cap, UW earned its first ever run-rule victory over Penn State, beating the Nittany Lions 8-0 in five innings. On Sunday, the Badgers finished out the series with a 9-0, five inning, victory to earn their 11th Big Ten win of the season, tying the most single-season league wins in program history.

Need to Know: The Badgers have won eight-consecutive games at Goodman Diamond, tying for the second longest home win streak in program history. In 2005, Wisconsin won nine-straight home games, beginning on April 18 with a 7-0 win over North Dakota State and ending on May 20 with a 6-0 loss to DePaul in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

MEN'S ROWING
This Week: The seventh-ranked Badgers host Boston and Dartmouth Saturday. The race is expected to take place in Devils Lake, Wis., with racing in the morning and afternoon.

Last Week: Wisconsin won seven of its nine races at the Stanford Invitational on April 14 and 15. The Badgers finished with six-straight wins over Oregon State and Stanford, including wins in the varsity eight over No. 10 Stanford and No. 18 Oregon State. In the first race, the Badgers were edged by. No. 3 California.

Need to Know: After a weekend off, Wisconsin has its final race before the EARC Conference Championships. The battle against EARC-conference foes on Saturday will be a highly-ranked affair, as UW’s varsity eight boat is No. 7 in the latest polls, ahead of No. 12 Boston and No. 15 Dartmouth.

WOMEN'S ROWING
This Week:
After a weekend off, Wisconsin heads to Minnesota for a border battle with the Golden Gophers.

Last Week: The Badgers took home three second-place finishes at the Lake Natoma Invite in Gold Hills, Calif., on April 15. UW finished second three times to California after winning five of seven races the previous day.

Need to Know: For the second-straight season, a trophy will be awarded to the winning varsity eight boat. The ninth-ranked Badgers will try to capture the Burnin’ Blade Award for the second-straight year, after winning the inagural edition last year. UW won last year’s trophy by a 4.4 second margin on Lake Mendota.

MEN'S TENNIS
This Week: Wisconsin begins postseason play April 27 at the Big Ten Tournament hosted by Northwestern at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center in Evanston, Ill. UW, the eighth seed, will open the tournament with a rematch against ninth-seeded Nebraska at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Last Week: The Badgers went 2-0 last weekend defeating Iowa at home, 5-2, before traveling to Lincoln to defeat the Cornhuskers, 4-3. It was the first time all season Wisconsin won both Big Ten matches over a weekend.

Need to Know:  Wisconsin is coming into the tournament playing their best tennis of the season. UW won of four of its last five matches including two wins over a ranked opponent.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
This Week:
Tenth-seeded Wisconsin (12-11, 3-8 Big Ten) faces seventh-seeded Indiana in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. (CT) on Thursday at the Varsity Tennis Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Last Week:
The Badgers grabbed their third conference win Friday at Iowa with a 5-2 victory over the Hawkeyes, before falling to Nebraska, 6-1, in the regular season finale in Madison on Sunday.

Need to Know: During the regular season, UW defeated Indiana, 5-2, in Madison. Junior Hannah Berner earned Wisconsin’s lone point in the match against Nebraska en route to capturing her third-straight victory. In the match at Iowa, senior Aleksandra Markovic recorded her 100th career victory at Wisconsin.

MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
This Week: With the Big Ten championships just three weeks away, the No. 25-ranked Badgers again divide their resources on the West Coast this week. UW’s middle distance and distance groups will compete in what is expected to be a highly-competitive Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational on Sunday in Palo Alto, Calif. The Badgers’ sprinters and throwers, meanwhile, head to San Diego on Friday and Saturday for the Triton Invitational.

Last Week: Wisconsin competed in four weekend meets, with freshman Austin Mudd stealing the show at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., with his win in the 800 meters (in a personal-best 1:47.68) and sophomore Dan Block scoring a win in the shot put with a personal-best mark of 60-2 1/2 at the Musco Twilight in Iowa City, Iowa.

Need to Know:  Mudd’s winning time in the 800 meters at Mt. SAC ranks him No. 10 nationally in the event, No. 3 in the Big Ten this season and stands as the fifth-fastest time in Wisconsin history.

Good to Know:

WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
This Week:
The Badgers split up this weekend to compete in two of the spring’s most competitive meets and another known for producing big marks. UW will send many of its field-event athletes and distance runners to the 103rd Drake Relays, which begins in earnest Friday in Des Moines, Iowa. Distance runners Caitlin Comfort and Ashley Beutler also will race in the elite Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., on Sunday. The Badgers’ throws group, meanwhile, heads to San Diego for the Triton Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Last Week:
A full slate that featured four different meets was highlighted by freshman Kelsey Card’s school record in the discus at the Musco Twilight Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa, where she threw 175 feet, 11 inches Saturday to take second in the competition. Out west, senior Jessica Flax toppled UW’s school record in the heptathlon Thursday with a second-place score of 5,662 points that has the defending Big Ten champion back atop the league standings.

Need to Know: Flax’s effort of 5,662 points in the heptathlon at the Mt. SAC Relays Combined Events broke the Badgers’ five-year-old school record of 5,637 set by Melissa Talbot and also allowed Flax to surpass the “B” qualifying standard for this summer’s USA Olympic Trials.

MEN'S GOLF
This Week: Wisconsin will participate in the 72-hole Big Ten Conference Golf Championships at a new venue; the Pete Dye Course in French Lick, Ind.

Last Week: UW finished 13th in the 18-team Boilermaker Invitational with a 310-317-299—926 on the always-tough Kampen Course in West Lafaytte, Ind.

Need to Know:  This is the first conference meet for head coach Michael Burcin who joined the Badgers last April. The team has finished 11th the past two years.

Good to Know:

WOMEN'S GOLF
This Week:
The Badgers will participate in the 54-hole Big Ten Conference Golf Championships at a new venue; the Donald Ross Course in French Lick, Ind.

Need to Know: UW has finished fourth the last two years and head coach Todd Oehrlein was named Coach of the Year in 2011.
