MADISON, Wis. -- On paper, freshman Jordan Hill may not seem like the typical Wisconsin recruit. The first Badger men's basketball player from California in 25 years (Sean Fleming, Oakland, Calif., 1987), Hill also took the prep school route to Madison, spending one year post high school at prestigious Exeter Academy in New Hampshire.
Hill (6-3, 170) may not seem typical until you watch him play defense - then you see why he fits right in.
"We have won a lot of games over the years with student-athletes who were hungry and had a special drive to be the best they could on and off the court," Bo Ryan said of Hill. "Jordan reminds our staff of those with the same qualities. His length, quickness and demeanor can help him become an exceptional defender in time."
