Wisconsin 49, Marquette 38
Dec. 6, 2014
TEAM NOTES
• The Badgers improved to 8-1 on the season. This marks the fifth time UW has opened the year 8-1 or better under head coach Bo Ryan.
• Wisconsin earned its 1,500 win in program history on Saturday, becoming the seventh time in Big Ten history to reach 1,500 victories.
• The Badgers improved to 66-55 all-time against Marquette, and 28-39 in games played in Milwaukee.
• Bo Ryan improved to 329-122 (.729) during his 14 years at Wisconsin, and improved to 8-6 against Marquette as the Badgers have won four of the past six meetings with the Golden Eagles.
• Ryan is now 32-6 (.842) in the in-state round-robin with Marquette, Milwaukee and Green Bay. The Badgers look to go a perfect 3-0 against their in-state rivals when they face Milwaukee on Wednesday.
• Wisconsin is now 20-5 (.800) away from home since the start of last year, and is now 9-3 (.750) in road venues.
• The Badgers held the Golden Eagles to 34 points, marking the fewest points by either team in the series since 1948 when Marquette scored 34 against Wisconsin.
• Wisconsin limited to Marquette to just 15 points in the first half. That is the fewest in a half by either team in this series since at least 1997. The fewest in a half during that span was 16 points in the first half by Marquette in 1998.
• UW has held two of its opponents this year to 40 points or less, as the Badgers held Northern Kentucky to 31 points on Nov. 14.
• Wisconsin grabbed a season-high 14 offensive rebounds, and outrebounded MU 41-28.
• UW generated 16 points off MU's 11 turnovers.
