#9 Wisconsin vs. Purdue
March 5, 2014
Kohl Center - Madison, Wis.

TEAM NOTES
• Wisconsin won its eighth-consecutive game and improved to 25-5 overall and 12-5 in the Big Ten.

• Wisconsin has now won 12 Big Ten games for the ninth time in 13 seasons under Bo Ryan. The school had a total of seven seasons with 11 conference wins prior to Ryan’s arrival.

• UW finished 14-3 at home this season, including a 6-3 mark in conference games.

• The Badgers have won eight straight conference games, the team’s longest conference win streak in the modern era and the longest since UW won its final 11 Big Ten games in 1940-41.

• Wisconsin’s 25 wins is tied as the fourth-highest single-season win total in program annals. Bo Ryan-led teams are responsible for the 10 winningest seasons in UW history.

• Ryan improved to 10-10 all-time against Purdue. No Big Ten team has a winning record against Ryan in his 13 seasons at the helm of the UW program.

• The Badgers scored 70 points for the 21st time on the year. UW had 14 such games all of last season.

• Wisconsin led at halftime by double digits for the 10th time this season. The Badgers are 10-0 in such games.

• UW went 23-for-31 (.742) at the free throw line, including 20-for-27 in the second half. PSU was 9-for-14. The Badgers have now made as many or more FTs than their opponent has attempted in 21 of 29 games this season.

• With 31 free throw attempts, the Badgers now have attempted 533 on the season, the second-highest total in school history. That trails only the 583 free throws UW attempted in 2006-07.

• UW committed just seven turnovers, lowering its nation-leading turnover average to just 8.1 per game. That average is the second-best in school history, trailing only the 2010-11 team’s mark of 7.6 turnovers per contest.

• In its last two games, Wisconsin has allowed its opponents to shoot a combined 4-for-27 (14.8%) from 3-point range.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Junior Frank Kaminsky led Wisconsin with 22 points in just 27 minutes of action, his fifth game of at least 20 points this season. He went 8-for-11 from the floor, including 4-for-5 from 3-point range.

• With 14 points, junior Traevon Jackson scored in double figures for third consecutive game, the 16th time this season and the 26th time in his career. The Badgers are 15-1 this season and 23-3 all-time when Jackson hits double digits.

• Freshman Nigel Hayes is now tied for third in free throw attempts by a freshman all-time at Wisconsin with 139 on the season, matching James Gregory (1977). He needs four more attempts to pass Sam Okey (142 in 1996) for second place all-time.

• Junior Josh Gasser finished with 13 points and was 9-for-10 from the free throw line, moving him up one spot to seventh on the Badgers’ single-season free throw shooting percentage list (87.4%, 97-for-11).

• Senior Ben Brust finished with 9 points and 4 rebounds in his final game at the Kohl Center.
