Meet the Freshmen: Jacob Englebert

MADISON, Wis. - With the season opener just a little over a month away, UWBadgers.com is giving fans a chance to get to know the Wisconsin Wrestling team on a more personal level.
Jacob Englebert is a 5-foot-8, 149 lb. freshman with a large sense of humor. The Brussels, Wis., native attended Southern Door High School where he saw a lot of success on the mat. In his senior year, he won the state championship and compiled a
49-1 record.
He led the team with the number of wins, pins and takedowns. The four-time individual conference champion was named MVP two years in a row and was a two-time team captain for Southern Door.
Getting to know Jacob:
What is your most embarrassing wrestling moment?
My freshman year when I got pinned in a spladle in the regional semi-finals.

What is your favorite wrestling memory?
Winning state my senior year. Overcoming adversity, making the finals and winning it, that was pretty cool.

Biggest fear?
Aside from commitment, I'm scared of bees.
Favorite Halloween costume you ever had?
I don't know, I can't remember the last time I did Halloween. I dressed up as a sheriff one time and that was pretty cool.
If you went into witness protection, what would you make your alias?
Slim Shady
If you could join any TV sitcom family what would it be?
I would join the How I Met Your Mother friend group.
If you weren't a wrestler what would you be doing?
I would probably be doing some really nerdy thing.
Who is the most famous person you've ever met?
Probably the Peterson brothers, John and Ben Peterson.
