PEORIA, Ariz.-
The No. 42-ranked UW women's golf team rounded out the Westbrook Spring Invitational in 10th place during the final round of the 54-hole tournament on Feb. 23.

Hosting at the par 72, 6269 yard Westbrook Village Golf Course, Wisconsin tied for the fifth-best score today, tallying a 1-over 289. The team's 18-hole score is just six strokes from its record-setting one at the UCF Challenge which ranked third in school history.

Out of 15 teams, Wisconsin finished in the bottom half for the second time this year scoring a 299-296-289-884. No. 14 Tennessee claimed first place with a 13-under 279-289-283-851 and Oregon was the only other team to stay under par at 854 (-10).

A.J. Newell of Tennessee earned individual honors, remaining six under par with 210 strokes. She was the only player to break 70 two both days, with a 68-73-69.

Competing as an individual, Michelle Cheung scored the best out of the Badgers with her 4-over 70-75-73-218. The sophomore recorded a career 36 and 54-hole best this tournament and was one of only five players to score an eagle all weekend.

Senior Kimberly Dinh was another one of five to score an eagle and only the second player today, bumping her up 30 spots to tie for 28th place with a 75-76-69-220. Her 54-hole score marks a season best, which is four strokes shy of her career record.

Also tying for 28th was teammate Aya Johnson, who scored even with par today after a pair of 74s yesterday, making her two strokes away from her 54-hole career best which she set last tournament.

Brooke Ferrell finished strong, staying even with par today to end up tied for 33rd with a 5-over 221.

Aaren Ziegler stayed even-keeled, scoring a 76 in all three rounds and finishing tied for 67th. After a record-setting performance at the UCF Challenge, Gabby Curtis came in last for the Badgers with 230 strokes, after a rough first-round score of 83, the highest mark of her career.

The Badgers head back to Arizona on March 15-17 for their next tournament to compete at the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson. Check back on UWBadgers.com for all the latest team news.
