? Final Results TUCSON, Ariz.-- Despite scoring the fifth-best second round score out of 15 teams, the women's golf team remained in 11th place after the final round of the interupted 54-hole Wildcat Invitational.
After playing for over 10 hours Sunday, the second round was suspended until Monday in which the Badgers scored a 291-- just one stroke over their fall best 18-hole score.
With a rocky start and finish, the Badgers finished 11th with a 46-over 303-291-316--910. The team has only scored that high once this season at the Windy City Intercollegiate in October.
Southern California didn't let the par 72, 6,386 yard Sewailo Golf Course stop them, as they blazed past the other teams to finish 30-under par (280-271-283--834). USC also topped the charts in the most pars (171), birdies (61) and eagles (3).
Karen Cheung helped push USC to No. 1 as she took the individual honors scoring an 11-under 67-68-70--205, even after the four-way tie for first place after day one of the tournament.
For UW,
Brooke Ferrell tied for 21st with a 6-over 222, while also scoring the lowest Wisconsin score in the tournament the second round at 2-under 70.
Michelle Cheung followed, scoring a 12-over 79-73-76-- 228. Seniors
Kimberly Dinh and
Aaren Ziegler, who was competing individually, finished almost hand-in-hand as they had 230 and 231 strokes each respectively.
Gabby Curtis and
Aya Johnson also lacked the Luck of the Irish today as they scored their personal highs of the season. Curtis finished tied for 73rd with a 21-over 78-74-85-- 237 while Johnson finished tied for 79th with a 24-over 82-80-78-- 240.
