ANN ARBOR, Mich. --Facing their second ranked opponent on the road in as many days, the Badgers couldn't pull out a victory in Ann Arbor against No. 13 Michigan.

The Wolverine (13-3 overall, 4-0 Big Ten) squad consisting of three individually ranked players and a pair of nationally ranked doubles teams stretched their season-long six game winning streak to seven in the 6-1 victory over the Badgers (6-7, 0-3).

The Wisconsin women's tennis team battled throughout the match, picking up several points in the doubles matches, including gaining the advantage in the third doubles match before it was called.

Lauren Chypyha put up a tough fight against the No. 21 player in the country, Emina Bektas, as the Badger junior managed to take nine games from the Wolverines' top player.

Head coach Tina Samara said there was plenty to be learned from a match like this one.

"We have a lot of work to do physically in order to be competitive with teams at this level," Samara stated. "We need to put in a lot more work between now and next spring both on and off the court."

Kelsey Grambeau tallied her second victory in as many matches on the No. 6 court, outperforming Michigan's Annie Wierda in three sets, 6-0, 2-6, 6-3 to close out the match and earn the Badgers lone point.

"I'm glad Kelsey (Grambeau) got us on the board," Samara said. "We pushed them way more than we did last year, and that's a step in the right direction."

The Badgers head east next weekend for one more road trip before returning home for three straight weeks in April.
