• FINAL RESULTS
St. George, Utah-- The women's golf team ended an impressive season tied for 13th in the NCAA St. George Regional Tournament on the par 71, 6,255-yard Entrada Country Club. After opening in fourth place, the Badgers slipped to seventh and then 13th, finishing the three-day tournament with a 67-over 303-308-308--919. It was the third-straight regional tournament for UW and the fourth in the past five years.
No.1 Southern California placed first among 18 teams with a 28-over 880 to move along to the NCAA Championship May 22-27 in Bradenton, Florida. The top six teams qualified including Stanford, Arkansas, UNLV, Virginia and California.
Dana Finkelstein of UNLV was the only individual to score under par throughout the 54-hole tournament finishing with a 2-under 211 with final round 67, which tied for a tournament-low 18-hole score.
After placing in the top 10 for the first two days, sophomore Brooke Ferrell dropped to tie for 20th, finishing with an 11-over 72-75-77--224. Freshman Gabby Curtis placed second for the team with a 16-over 229, after tallying a 79 Saturday.
Senior Kimberly Dinh finished off her career tied for 50th with consistent play, scoring a 78-76-77--231.
Sophomore Michelle Cheung and freshman Becky Klongland finished hand-in-hand in 77th and 78th place. Cheung finished the season with a 24-over 237, and Klongland scored a 26-over 239.
With a young team this year, the Badgers return seven next fall and graduate seniors Kimberly Dinh and Aaren Ziegler.
