Wisconsin vs. Hawai'i Postgame Notes
Camp Randall Stadium - Madison, Wis.
Sept. 26, 2015
TEAM NOTES
• Today's captains were sophomore OLB Jack Cichy, junior OLB Vince Biegel, senior S Michael Caputo and senior FB Derek Watt.
• The contest was the first night game at Camp Randall since Wisconsin defeated Utah State, 16-14, on Sept. 15, 2012. The Badgers own a 38-30 record in night games, which is highlighted by a 13-5 mark at Camp Randall.
• With the win, the Badgers are now 6-1 all-time against Hawai'i, including a 2-0 record in Madison. UW last played the Rainbow Warriors on Dec. 5, 2009 when the Badgers won, 51-10, on the road.
• Wisconsin extended its string of consecutive non-conference home wins to 35, matching Nebraska (1992-2004) for the seventh-longest streak in NCAA history. One more home win would tie the Badgers with Ohio State (1991-2005) for the sixth-longest streak of its kind.
• UW has now won 10 straight home games, dating back to Sept. 6, 2014 when the Badgers took down Western Illinois, 37-3.
• The Badgers are 71-7 (.910) at home since the start of the 2004 season. Nationally, only Boise State (69-2, .972) has won a higher percentage of its home games than Wisconsin in that time frame. Only Ohio State (72) has won more home games.
• The result notes the first time UW has held an opponent to three or fewer points in three-consecutive games in the modern era (since 1946). The last time Wisconsin accomplished the feat was in 1937 when the Badgers opened the season with three straight shutouts against South Dakota State, Marquette and Chicago.
• By preventing Hawai'i from scoring a touchdown, the Badgers have not allowed a 6-point score over the last 188:02 of game time - a period that stretches 12-consecutive quarters. The Badgers last allowed a touchdown at the 8:02 mark of the fourth quarter against Alabama.
• After shutting out Hawai'i, the Badgers have allowed an average of 10.4 points per game at home since Dave Aranda took over as UW's defensive coordinator in 2013, a span of 17 games.
• In its last nine non-conference home games, Wisconsin has held its opponents to an average of 5.6 points per game, including four shutouts.
• In Paul Chryst's last 15 games at Camp Randall - 12 as offensive coordinator and three as head coach - the Badgers have averaged 51.2 points per game and scored at least 50 points eight times.
• With 80,829 fans in attendance, at least 75,000 fans packed Camp Randall for the 118th-consecutive home game - a streak that dates back to Sept. 19, 1998 vs. UNLV.
• In three home games, the Wisconsin defense has held its opponents to a combined 93 yards rushing (Miami -3, Troy 81, Hawai'i 15).
• The last time the Badgers held opponents to under 100 yards rushing in three consecutive games was in 2012 (Minnesota 96, Michigan State 61, Indiana 61).
• Overall, UW out-rushed the Rainbow Warriors, 326 to 15.
• Wisconsin picked up its longest scoring drive of the season (97 yards) with a 2-yard touchdown run by Taiwan Deal in the first quarter, which marked the Badgers' longest scoring drive since Montee Ball capped off a 97-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown run against Northern Illinois on Sept. 17, 2011.
• Wisconsin produced its 36th 100-yard rusher since the start of the 2013 season, as Taiwan Deal ran for 147 yards.
• The Badgers gained a season-high 512 yards, their most since racking up 521 vs. Auburn in the 2015 Outback Bowl. UW totaled 500 yards or more four times last season.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Head coach Paul Chryst improved his combined record at Camp Randall as an offensive coordinator (2005-11) and head coach to 47-4 (.922). Chryst is 7-2 in night games during his two stints as an assistant coach (2002, 2005-11) and now at the helm of the Badgers.
• Senior QB Joel Stave made his 32nd-career start, passing Neil Graff for fifth -most starts in UW history.
• Stave won his 24th game as a starter, putting him within two of Darrell Bevell for fourth all-time at Wisconsin (Brooks Bollinger owns the school record with 30 wins). The mark ties Stave with Navy QB Keenan Reynolds for the third-most wins among active FBS quarterbacks. Only Michigan State's Connor Cook (27) and Stanford's Kevin Hogan (27) have more.
• Stave threw for 164 yards and one touchdown on 14 of 23 passing, which signaled the 10th time in his career that he three for at least 150 yards in a game with 25 attempts or less.

• Senior WR/S Tanner McEvoy led the team with a career-high six tackles, including four solo tackles.
• Sophomore OLB Jack Cichy tied a career-high with five tackles, including two solo tackles.
• Senior P Drew Meyer punted four times for an average of 46.5 yards per punt, putting one inside the 5-yard line. Meyer's yards per punt average was his best mark since averaging 47.8 yards against Penn State on Nov. 30, 2013.
