Fans get first look at 2016-17 Badgers at free event
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's basketball team officially began practice on Sept. 30 and what has unfolded over the subsequent weeks has been one of the most competitive training camps in program history. With each of the top 11 scorers returning from last season's Sweet 16 team, including Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year Nigel Hayes, the Badgers have been nearly unanimously tabbed as a preseason top-10 team heading into 2016-17.
That talent and depth will be on display on Oct. 23 at the team's annual Red-White Scrimmage presented by Zimbrick Buick GMC. Admission, as always, is free.
Kohl Center doors will open at 11:30 a.m. (CT) and the action starts at 1 p.m.
In addition to watching the on-court action, fans will also have the opportunity to meet the Badgers players and coaches during a post-game team autograph session. The 2016-17 team poster, courtesy of UW Credit Union, will also be available free of charge.
Parking is available for $10 adjacent to the Kohl Center in Lots 46 and 91. Lot 87 will be available for ADA patrons for $10.
Wisconsin officially opens the season with an exhibition game against UW-Platteville on Sunday, Oct. 30, at the Kohl Center. The Badgers' official season opener is Nov. 11 against Central Arkansas.
