Clark named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week

Junior tallied seven points during UW’s sweep of Ohio State

MADISON, Wis. – After a career weekend against Ohio State, Wisconsin women's hockey junior Emily Clark was named the WCHA Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

It marks the fifth time that Clark, a native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, has been honored by the WCHA with a weekly honor. She is the third different Badger this season to earn the conference's offensive player of the week accolade.

Clark recorded a career-high five points thanks to a goal and four assists in Wisconsin's 7-0 victory over Ohio State last Friday in Columbus, before chipping in two helpers in UW's 5-0 win against the Buckeyes on Saturday.

Her seven points on the week were not only led the WCHA, but the NCAA as well. She also finished the weekend with a +7 plus/minus rating and a faceoff percentage of .636.

On the season, Clark has 19 points courtesy of five goals and 14 assists.

Clark and the top-ranked Badgers return to action on Jan. 6-7, 2017, when they travel to Wentzville, Missouri, to take on Lindenwood in a non-conference series.
