UW junior caps off incredible indoor campaign on world stage
PORTLAND, Ore. – Just a week removed off of a fourth-place finish at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Championships, Wisconsin women's track and field standout Georgia Ellenwood went against the world's best on Friday in the pentathlon at the 2016 IAAF World Championships, where the Canadian netted a 10th-place finish.

Ellenwood finished the five-discipline event with 4,324 points, marking the third time this year she broke the 4,300-point barrier. The Langley, British Columbia, native owns the top-three pentathlon scores in school history.

In the 60-meter hurdles, Ellenwood clocked in at 8.64 seconds to record 987 points.

She cleared 5 feet, 9 1/4 inches in the high jump before throwing the shot put 41-1 3/4.

Ellenwood came close to matching her personal-best in the long jump, as she soared 19-8 3/4 before concluding the competition with a time of 2:20.18 in the 800 meters.

The Badgers open their outdoor season next weekend in San Diego, California, with the Aztec Invitational.
