
Ellenwood sits in third at Bulldog Heptathlon

Junior sets first-day personal best with 3,510 points at premier competition
ATHENS, Georgia –Wisconsin women's track and field junior Georgia Ellenwood is making a statement in the heptathlon at the Bulldog Decathlon and Heptathlon after setting a first-day personal best en route to a third-place showing on Wednesday.
Through four events at one of the premier multi-event competitions of the track and field season, Ellenwood has 3510 points after setting a personal best in the shot put. Sophomore Casie Pawlik also set a personal-best, first-day score of 2800 points to sit in seventh.
Ellenwood opened the competition at Spec Towns Track with a time of 14.02 seconds in the 100 hurdles to earn 976 points, while Pawlik earned 895 points thanks to a time of 14.60.
In the high jump, Ellenwood tied for second with a clearance of 5 feet, 10 inches, which 3/4 of an inch off of her personal best, while Pawlik earned a mark of 4-11 1/2, a personal best.
Ellenwood placed fourth in the shot put with a personal-best toss of 41-7, while Pawlik threw the shot put 34-4.
In the 200 meters, Ellenwood clocked in at 25.13, while Pawlik finished in 26.98.
The second day of the Bulldog Decathlon and Heptathlon starts at 11 a.m. CT on Thursday with the long jump.
