Wisconsin opens four-day Texas Invitational with 800 freestyle relay
AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Invitational got rolling on Wednesday evening with one relay event, the 800-yard free relay.

Wisconsin opened things up with solid performances against the stout competition typical of what has become a marquee event on the college swimming calendar.

On the women's side, the "A" squad finished in fifth place in 7 minutes, 5.06 seconds and the "B" squad placed 11th (7:17.90).

The UW men's "A" squad placed 12th (6:31.95) and the "B" squad finished 13th (6:33.18).

The Badgers will be back in action Thursday, with prelims getting underway at 10 a.m. and the finals set for 6 p.m. The four-day event runs through Saturday.
