Senior recorded seven points during Wisconsin’s sweep of Minnesota State
MADISON, Wis. – After a seven-point weekend that included a hat trick, Wisconsin women's hockey senior Sarah Nurse was named the WCHA Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
It marks the third time this year that Nurse, an alternate captain, has received accolades from the WCHA as she was named the WCHA Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 25 and Dec. 6, 2016.
Nurse tallied three points thanks to a goal and two assists in UW's 7-0 win against Minnesota State before recording a hat trick along with an assist in UW's 6-0 win on Saturday.Â
A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Nurse was the only player in the NCAA to record a hat trick during the weekend. Her four goals on the weekend paced the NCAA while her seven points ranked second in the country behind linemate Annie Pankowski.
Nurse and the No. 1 Badgers take on North Dakota on Saturday in the semifinals of the 2017 WCHA Final Face-Off. Puck drop at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis is set for 2 p.m.
