Team of Langer, DesRosiers, Detra and Disanza shine for the Badgers in the DMR
NEW YORK – The Wisconsin women's track and field team saw a lot of personal-best performances during the first day of the Armory Invitational at the historic Armory on Friday.
Wisconsin saved its best performance of the day for last, winning the distance medley relay by 12 seconds with a time of 11 minutes, 31.82 seconds. Emma Langer ran the opening 1200 meter leg, passing the baton to Gabby DesRosiers in second place. DesRosiers kept it close during her 400 meter leg. Brenna Detra ran third, battling with Duke for the first two laps of her 800 meter leg before surging into the lead. Anchor Sarah Disanza only widened the gap, running her 1600 meter leg in 4:48.40.
"Winning any invitational meet is fun and our women's DMR had a nice win tonight," UW Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Mick Byrne said. "This quartet can definitely run faster and right now they should take this win and enjoy it."

Senior Michele Lee also ran a personal record, finishing fifth in heat two with a time of 9:38.86. Right behind Lee was fellow senior Sarah Heinemann, who ran her first indoor 3000 meters in 9:42.85.
