COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Georgia Ellenwood had her best pentathlon performance of the season en route to becoming a first-team All-American for the third-straight year. The junior on the Wisconsin women's track and field team finished seventh at the NCAA Indoor Championships at the Gilliam Indoor Stadium Friday afternoon.
 
Wisconsin has now had a first-team All-American in the pentathlon eight-straight years.

"Under the circumstances, I was happy that I placed in the top eight," Ellenwood said. "It's been a tough season but I'm honored to be able to keep the streak of women placing in the top-eight in the pentathlon at nationals alive!"

Ellenwood had a strong start in the 60 hurdles, clocking a season-best 8.64 seconds. The junior placed first in her heat and 12th overall, earning 987 points.
 
Next up was the high jump. The Langley, British Colombia native cleared three bars on her way to earning 879 points with a top height of 5 feet, 7 1/4 inches. She ranked ninth after two events.
 
In the shot put, her first toss of 39-9 ¼ proved to be her best.  With two events to go Ellenwood held steady in ninth with another 669 points.
 
The fourth event was the long jump. Ellenwood recorded her second-best mark of the year on her last attempt, leaping 18-11 ¾. She scored 780 points in the event and was still positioned in ninth.
 
Entering the final discipline, Ellenwood was sandwiched tightly in the middle of the pack. An 800-meter time of 2:18.29 to finish eighth propelled her up the standings to seventh place.

Consistency was key for the Wisconsin pentathlete as she did not finish higher than eighth in any one event but netted a seventh-place finish overall. 
 
Two more Badgers are in action tomorrow, as Riley Budde and Banke Oginni will compete in the weight throw. Budde's men's competition starts at 2 p.m. while Oginni is slated to throw in the women's event at 4:30 p.m.
