Hahn finishes as UW’s top golfer for third-straight tournament
AWENDAW, S.C. -- For the third-consecutive tournament, sophomore Jordan Hahn finished as UW's top golfer as the Wisconsin men's golf team wrapped up the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate.
Â
Hahn (70-76-75=221) shaved one stroke off his second round to cap the tournament with a round of 3-over 75 and finish in a tie for 51st.
Â
As a team, the Badgers (294-305-301=900) finished 15th overall.
Â
Both freshman Pete Kuhl and senior Ben Skogen recorded a 2-over 74 to put up Wisconsin's best scores of the final round. Kuhl (74-77-74=225) jumped up the leaderboard to tie for 68th at 9-over, while Skogen (76-77-74=227) finished two strokes back in a tie for 73rd.
Â
Sophomore Brett Robinson (74-76-78=228) shot a 6-over 78 in the final round to end in a tie for 75th and freshman Nick Robinson (77-76-80=233) finished 79th overall.
Â
South Carolina took home the team title at 20-under, followed by Mississippi (-16) in second. Auburn and North Carolina State (-10) tied for third while Georgia State (-5) completed the top-five.
Â
"Obviously we're very disappointed with the result," UW head coach Michael Burcin said. "As we look at the stats, every day we had a three-to-four hole stretch that killed us which just can't happen. We have a lot to work on for Purdue and these young guys will be ready."
Â
Up next, the Badgers travel to Lafayette, Indiana, to compete in the Boilermaker Invitational on April 15-16 at the Kampen Golf Course.
