September 14, 2017 | Men's Hockey
MADISON, Wis. -- With the 2017-18 Wisconsin men's hockey season right around the corner, UWBadgers.com goes beyond what fans will see on the ice this season to introduce the eight newest members of the Badgers' incoming class by exploring their personalities, likes and dislikes.
Next up in this year's series is forward Sean Dhooghe.
Dhooghe, originally from Aurora, Illinois, comes to the Badgers by way of the U.S. National Team Development Program, where he played from 2015-17. He was a member of the gold medal-winning squad at the 2017 IIHF Under-18 World Championships, leading the team with three goals and six assists in seven games and notably scored Team USA's overtime winning goal against Sweden. Dhooghe won gold medals at the 2016 and 2017 Under-18 Five Nations Tournaments while placing third at the 2015 U17 Four Nations Tournament with the U.S. Under-17 team. A recent 2017 USA Hockey Junior Evaluation Camp invitee, Dhooghe is joined by older brother Jason at Wisconsin.
Dhooghe will wear No. 24 for a jersey number. He joins Rod Romanchuk, Mark Osiecki, Andrew Joudrey and Jedd Soleway, among others, in sporting No. 24.
