MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's soccer team continues its homestand on Saturday when it takes on Loyola University Chicago at 7 p.m. (CT) at the McClimon Soccer Complex. 1. WEDNESDAY REWIND: It took just under seven minutes for the Badgers to gain a 2-0 lead over Northwestern and by the 20th minute, UW had a 3-0 edge after an own goal. The Wildcats scored in the 41st minute but the Badgers held on to earn their first Big Ten Conference victory of the year.
2. PAC the MAC: All fans can purchase tickets for $1 for admission to the soccer doubleheader, beginning with the women's soccer game vs. Minnesota at 4 p.m. Admission is FREE for students with a UW Student ID.
3. SCOUTING LOYOLA: The Ramblers (3-3-0, 0-2-0 MVC) suffered a 1-0 road defeat at Bradley on Wednesday night. Loyola just had its first shutout of the season last Sunday in a 1-0 win over Stetson. The Ramblers are 1-1-0 on the road so far this season. Loyola is led by sophomore Marius Kullmann, who was named the MVC Defensive Player of the Week last Tuesday after a top-notch performance against Stetson.
4. WE'VE GOT HISTORY: This will be the seventh meeting between Loyola Chicago and Wisconsin. The Badgers hold a 5-0-1 edge over the Ramblers. The Badgers took the first five contests of the series before tying the Ramblers, 1-1, in 2014 in Madison. UW is 2-1 against the Ramblers in Madison.
5. PROTECT THIS HOUSE: The Badgers have a 12-game unbeaten streak at the McClimon Soccer Complex dating back to Oct. 7, 2015.
