IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Wisconsin women's track and field came out with a strong start at the first day of competition for the Larry Wieczorek Invite with the UW field athletes leading the way.

After a successful start to her senior season at The Dual, vaulting a height of 13 feet, 5 3/4 inches,
Taylor Amann did not disappoint as she won the event again Friday afternoon in Iowa City. With her winning height of 13-7 1/4 (4.14 m), Amann set a new meet record at the University of Iowa Recreation Building.

Also throwing it down for the Badgers was junior
Banke Oginni, who took second in the weight throw with a toss measuring 70-6 1/2 (21.5 m). It marks the third time that Oginni has surpassed the 70 feet mark in the event.

Emma Haugen took a fifth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 5-8 3/4Â (1.75 m).

Three Badgers also finished in the top-ten in the long jump event. Senior
Georgia Ellenwood took seventh place with a mark of 18-11 3/4 (5.78 m). Sophomores
Phoebe Edwards and
Meagan Blair took the ninth and tenth overall spots, with Edwards hitting 18-4 1/4 (5.59 m) and Blair with a mark of 18-1 (5.51 m).

Freshman Bianca Stubler tore up the track in the women's 600 meters, securing the runner-up spot in the event with her time of 1 minute, 35.37 seconds.

The Badgers will be back in action Saturday morning for the remainder of the competition, starting with the women's shot put at 1 p.m. (CT).
