1. HAULING IN THE HONORS: Two Badgers received high praise after Wisconsin's sweep of Mercyhurst this past weekend. Junior Abby Roque was named the WCHA Forward of the Week after becoming the first player in the NCAA this year to record a hat trick in UW'S 6-1 victory Friday night. Fellow junior Mekenzie Steffen was named the WCHA Defenseman of the Week after a four-point weekend as she assisted on all three of Roque's goals on Friday night before scoring a power-play goal on Saturday
2. HOMEÂ SWEET HOME: The Badgers continued their dominance on home ice after their sweep of Lindenwood Sept. 28-29. UW tied their longest unbeaten streak at home to 31 games with their last loss at LaBahn Arena dating back to Dec. 3, 2016. Wisconsin is 20-11-8 all-time against Minnesota-Duluth at home, including a 10-0-2 record at LaBahn Arena.
3. CHASING HISTORY: UW Head Coach Mark Johnson is on the brink of history. The Badgers' leader is currently at 463 wins all time, that's second-best all-time in Division One behind just Katey Stone of Harvard (463). This weekend's series could potentially propel Johnson into first place. Wisconsin will face off against Harvard Nov.23-24 at LaBahn Arena.
4. ABOUT UMD: Minnesota-Duluth is no pushover matchup, the Bulldogs currently sit at No. 4 in both USA Today and USCHO polls with a 2-1-1 record. UMD'S only loss came last Friday in a 2-5 defeat with No. 3 Minnesota. The Bulldogs have found strength through youth thus far this season, freshman Gabbie Hughes recorded a point in three of her first four outings as a Bulldogs. Five UMD freshmen have tallied three points in their first four games, including Lizi Norton , Hughes, Kailee Skinner, Anneke Linser and Maggie Flaherty
5. INTERNATIONAL DUTY: Senior Emily Clark was named to Hockey Canada's roster for the 2018 Four Nations Cup, the organization announced on Thursday. Clark will be joined by former Badgers Sarah Nurse and Blayre Turnbull on the roster. It will be a homecoming for Clark as this year's Four Nations Cup, which features the U.S., Sweden and Finland, will be held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Clark's hometown.
