MADISON, Wis. – Hosting the No. 5 seed University of Illinois (11-7-1 overall, 6-5-1 Big Ten), the No. 4 Wisconsin women's team (12-3-4, 6-3-4) was eliminated from the Big Ten Tournament following a shootout on Sunday afternoon.
Illinois keeper Jaelyn Cunningham saved three straight Wisconsin penalty kicks in the post-overtime shootout, 3-0, securing a victory for the Fighting Illini.
Illinois jumped ahead first from a penalty shot in the 29th minute from Katie Murray. Wisconsin knotted the game up at 1-1 in the 34th minute after Wisconsin was awarded a penalty kick and junior
Dani Rhodes found the back of the net.
The game stayed tied at 1-1 through the second half and two periods of overtime before heading to a shootout. Patricia George stepped up first for Illinois and got her shot by Wisconsin keeper
Jordyn Bloomer, starting things off.

Payton Wesley took penalty kicks for Wisconsin, all being saved by Cunningham. Illinois first three women all found the back of the net.
The Badgers held a 20-16 shot advantage in Sunday's match as well as a 6-4 corner advantage.
