MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin women's golf team travels south to Medinah, Illinois for the Illini Women's Invitational, Oct. 8-9, at the Medinah Country Club.
Here are five things to know before the team tees off:

Last time out: The Badgers had an impressive first round at the Schooner Fall Classic last Friday when senior
Aya Johnson opened with a 5-under par round of 66 to put her in a tie for first place. Johnson's 66 was just one shot off the school record for single round performances. Overall, Wisconsin placed 12
th as a team.
2.
The Course: Located 25 miles from downtown Chicago along Lake Kadijah, Medinah Country Club has over 60 years of major championship golf history. The site hosted the
2012 Ryder Cup, the 1990
U.S. Open and the 2006 PGA Championship. The Medinah clubhouse was named No. 6 most iconic golf clubhouses in the world according to Golf.com in 2015.

The Five: The Badgers will travel

Reinecke, senior
Tess Hackworthy, sophomore
Claire Fitzgerald and freshman

The Competition: The Badgers will face Akron, Eastern Carolina, Indiana, Illinois (host), Kansas State, Kennesaw State, Kent State, Miami, Northern Illinois, Purdue, San Jose State, SMU, Texas Tech and Virginia Tech

Thoughts from Coach Oehrlein:
"In another strong field, we have an opportunity to keep improving. I hope we're able to establish more consistency - both in our execution and our mental game. We drove the ball better in our last tournament and we will need to continue that improvement."
