PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas (AP) - Ethan Happ had 16 points and 12 rebounds before fouling out late, and No. 25 Wisconsin beat Stanford 62-46 in Wednesday's first round at the Battle 4 Atlantis.
It marks the fourth time in as many games this year that Happ has recorded a double-double.Â
Sophomore Nate Reuvers had a tournament-record nine blocked shots for the Badgers (4-0), a total that also tied the longtime Wisconsin single-game record. UW blocked 11 shots in all, one short of the school record and the most since blocking 11 shots vs. IPFW on Nov. 15, 2009
D'Mitrik Trice added 16 points for Wisconsin, which shot just 35 percent after halftime yet came up with a critical 9-0 burst to seize control after the Cardinal (2-2) had gotten within a basket with 6:53 left.
Brad Davison chipped in 14 points, 12 of them coming in the second half as UW ended the game on a 18-4 run.Â
UW held Stanford to 27.1% shooting (16-59), the team's best field goal defense since limiting Florida A&M to 25.9% (14-54) on Dec. 23, 2016. Today's mark of 27.1% was also UW's best field goal percentage defense against a major conference opponent since holding Virginia to 23.4% shooting (11-47) on Dec. 4, 2013.
Wisconsin will take on Oklahoma on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. CT on ESPN in the semifinal round of the Battle 4 Atlantis.Â
