Duggan, Mikkelson lead Olympic Badgers on Tuesday

U.S. and Canada improve to 2-0-0 heading into their upcoming showdown
GANGNEUNG, South Korea – A pair of Olympic veterans lead the Wisconsin women's hockey contingent at the 2018 Winter Olympics on Tuesday as the U.S. and Canada both improved to 2-0-0 to set up a terrific showdown on Wednesday night between the two powerhouse countries.
United States 5, Olympic Athletes from Russia 0
Former UW captain and current Team USA captain Meghan Duggan earned an assist as the U.S. blanked the Olympic Athletes from Russia, 5-0, on Tuesday.
The 2011 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award winner, Duggan assisted on Gigi Mavin's goal, the fourth of the game for the United States.
Fellow Badgers Hilary Knight and Brianna Decker recorded 6 and 5 shots on goal, respectively, in the victory.
Former UW goaltender Alex Rigsby suited up for the second time in South Korea, but did not see any game action.
Thanks to the win, the U.S. secured a bye to the semifinal round on Monday (Feb. 19) as one of the top-two seeds from Group A.
Canada 4, Finland 1
Former UW standout Meaghan Mikkelson skated in her 100th career game for Team Canada as the Canadian helped defeat Finland, 4-1, on Tuesday in their second game at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
Mikkelson, the oldest player on this year's Canadian roster, earned a +1 plus/minus rating in her milestone game.
Blayre Turnbull had two shots on goal for Canada while Sarah Nurse and current Badger Emily Clark each had a shot on goal.
Team Canada also secured a top-two finish in Group A and a bye into the semifinal round of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
The U.S. and Canada will meet on Wednesday in a 9:10 p.m. CT contest that can be seen live on NBCSN or via the NBC Sports App.
