1. LAST TIME IN AMES: The Badgers came to play in 2017 when they were last in Ames for the Iowa State Classic. Ebony McClendon led the pack on the track winning the 60 meter finals and tying her personal record. On the field Banke Oginni won the weight throw and placed fifth in the shot put.
2. GEORGIA ON MY MIND: Pentathlete Georgia Ellenwood made a grand entrance last weekend in Nebraska winning the pentathlon with a score of 4,259 in her first go at the event this season. Ellenwood's score is currently No. 3 in the nation and No. 1 in the Big Ten which earned the reigning Big Ten champion Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week honors.
3. LAST WEEK IN NEBRASKA: Last weekend, Badgers took home a collection of top ten finishes and new personal records. Taylor Amann won her fourth straight meet of the year in the pole vault while teammates Jane McCurry and Rayce Albino placed fourth and sixth respectively. Meagan Blair secured two new personal records in the long jump and the triple jump. Sprinters Haley Lubow and Bianca Stubler also took home new PR's both in the 60 meters. .
4. BIG TEN AND BEYOND: The Big Ten Indoor Championships are only two weekends away. Wisconsin saw a number of podium-worthy finishes at last year's Big Ten meet including gold medals for pole-vaulter Taylor Amann and pentathlete Georgia Ellenwood. Thrower Banke Oginni, jumper Chinne Okoronkwo and sprinter Ebony McClendon brought home four bronze medals.
5. SHELL SHOCKER: The Badgers will return to the Camp Randall Sports Center next weekend for their first home meet of the season. The Wisconsin Shell Shocker will kick off on Friday in a double-dual against Marquette and Northern Iowa with field events starting at 3 p.m. and running events at 5 p.m. Â
