MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin softball team kicks off a two-weekend conference road stretch in Columbus with a battle against Ohio State. The Badgers face the Buckeyes on Friday at 5 p.m. (CT), Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m.

1. LAST TIME OUT: For the second game in a row, the Badgers scored six runs, this time in a 6-2 feat over Northern Iowa. Wisconsin (15-11) notched seven hits led by Brooke Wyderski and Taylor Johnson with two hits each. UNI (16-13) notched 12 hits while stranding 13 runners.

2. THE TIME BEFORE LAST: After battling weather last Friday and Saturday, Wisconsin finally got its conference opener in on Sunday, defeating Rutgers 6-3 at home. UW outhit Rutgers 8-4 and retired the first eight RU batters in order. Wyderski led the team with three hits and two runs.

3. SURELY IT'S SCHERLE: Junior Gabby Scherle has really stepped up her game this season and already has a career-best 17 hits this year, tripling her sophomore year total. The Iowa native has started in all 25 games and has had at least one hit in six of the last seven games, including her first career triple against UNI on Tuesday.

4. SCOUTING OSU: The Buckeyes have an impressive 19-7 record headed into the weekend, but dropped all three games of their conference opener to Indiana. OSU's Lilli Piper leads the Big Ten Conference with a .415 batting average, a .947 slugging percentage, 31 runs, and 34 RBI. She also has a conference-leading 13 home runs on the season.

5. WE'VE GOT HISTORY: Wisconsin leads the all-time series with Ohio State, 26-18-1, but OSU has an 11-5 all-time advantage in Columbus. The teams last faced in the Big Ten Tournament last season as the Buckeyes came away with the tight 3-2 victory. The Badgers have not been to Columbus since March 27, 2010 and are 6-2-1 in their last nine meetings with the Buckeyes
