Head coach Bebe Bryans
"It was a really good day for us, I think we learned a lot on this trip. We had some really good races, we had some not very good races, and I think that's just part of the learning process. I think that sometimes we forget how little we have raced, but I'm really proud of this team. Everybody had at least one really, really good race here, and everybody struggled. There was a lot of tenacity, there was a lot of soul-searching and some decision making that I think bodes very well for our future.Â
"I think the two standout performances were the 2V8 in the morning, they had just a brilliant race in the morning race. Then the 1V8 in the afternoon, they just took what they learned and really became the boat that we know they have the capability of being. So that was really great start for them and I think moving forward we have a lot more to work with than we did before.Â
"We're excited, we're pretty tired but excited and really looking forward to the next couple of weeks of training and getting another race under our belt before we head to Big Tens. Hard to believe it's almost over, but that's the way we do it and we're working hard to be really good at it. Great thanks to Clemson and all of their support staff for putting on a great regatta, it was really flawless. They did a wonderful job and we were really proud today to be representing Wisconsin and the Badgers."
