2018-19: Stroked second varsity eight to 12th place at NCAA championships (May 31-Jun 2) …sat eight seat in the second varsity eight to help boat place fourth at Big Ten championships (May 19)…sat six seat in the second varsity eight and placed second behind No. 7 Princeton while defeating No. 14 Rutgers and Columbia at the Princeton Regatta (April 27) ... raced in six seat of the second varsity eight at the Big Ten Double Dual, topping both No. 13 Iowa and No. 20 Indiana (April 13) ... sat six seat for the second varsity eight at the Pac-12 Invite, defeating No. 11 USC and dropping races to No. 1 Cal and No. 3 Stanford (March 30-31) ... stroked the second varsity eight and placed third at the Cardinal Invitational (March 17)

2017-18: Placed 15th overall with the varsity eight at the NCAA championships (May 26) ... sat stroke with the varsity eight and placed fourth at the Big Ten championships (May 13) ... placed second with the varsity eight at Princeton/Syracuse (April 28) ... raced stroke with the varsity eight and placed fourth at Clemson Invitational (April 14) ... took first place with the varsity eight at the Frozen/Sunshine Regatta (March 31) ... rowed with the varsity eight at the Cardinal Invitational (March 18) ... 2018 Academic All-Big Ten Honoree ... 2018 CRCA National Scholar Athlete

2016-17: Helped the varsity eight to 11th place overall at the NCAA Championships (5/29) … placed third at the San Diego Crew Classic with the varsity eight (4/2) … raced twice with the second varsity eight at the Big Ten Double Dual (4/8) … stroked the first open eight and the second open four to second and first place, respectively, at the 2016 Milwaukee River Challenge (9/17) … stroked the first novice collegiate eight and the second novice collegiate four to first and second place, respectively, at the 2016 Head of the Rock (10/ 9) … rowed four seat for the club fours that placed second at the 2016 Head of the Charles Regatta (10/22)

High School: Rowed for three and a half years … member of the top fours and top eights for two and a half years … rowed for the 2015 Junior National High Performance Camp 

Personal: Parents are Barbara Pietz and Tim Asplund … has one younger brother, Micah … major is Spanish

Reason for choosing UW-Madison: “Both the high quality of academic and the rowing team. Also the amount of support provided to student-athletes.” 

What Wisconsin rowing means to you: “Rowing at Wisconsin is what inspires me to do better every day – both at practice and in the classroom. I know that each day I get to go to my safe place, the boathouse, and work my heart out. It relieves stress and betters my mood. Without rowing, I would be a very different person.”
