Three Badgers invited to 2018 World Junior Summer Showcase

Camp is an audition for the 2019 U.S. National Junior Team which plays at the World Junior Championship
MADISON, Wis. – A trio of Wisconsin men's hockey players were invited to the 2019 World Junior Summer Showcase that will take place from July 28-Aug. 4 in Kamloops, British Columbia.
The camp serves as a the first look for Americans hoping to make the 2019 U.S. National Junior Team that will compete in the 2019 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Championship.
The event runs Dec. 26, 2018, through Jan. 5, 2019, in Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia.
Among the 42 players invited are UW sophomore defenseman Josh Ess, sophomore forward Sean Dhooghe and freshman defenseman K'Andre Miller.
This camp includes 11 international games between Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States.
The U.S. will enter the 2019 tournament having won medals at three consecutive World Junior Championships for the first time in tournament history. That includes a bronze medal last year, helped by former Badger Trent Frederic.
The team for the 2019 World Junior Championship is expected to be named in December.
