
CRCA recognizes eight Badgers as 2018 National Scholar-Athletes

Seven openweights rowers, one lightweight honored for their grade-point averages
MADISON, Wis. – The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association named its 2018 National Scholar Athletes on Monday, and that list includes eight Wisconsin women's rowers. A total of seven UW openweight rowers and one lightweight rower were honored.
To earn recognition, student-athletes must boast a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average or higher, and have rowed at least 75 percent of the season in an NCAA or IRA-eligible boat. They must also be in at least their second year of eligibility.
Openweight rowers named are seniors Monica Gerber (San Rafael, California), Lily Hansen (San Anselmo, California), Gabby Simons (Oconomowoc) and Lexi Siverling (Cadott), as well as juniors Eliza Clifford (Bethesda, Maryland) and Renee Olley (Ashburton, New Zealand), and sophomore Elisabet Pietz (Madison).
Senior Brianna Wynne (Los Alamitos, California) was the lone Wisconsin lightweight recognized.
