
Ellenwood wins Canadian and Pan American titles

Badger senior scores 6,026 points at Canadian National Championships
OTTAWA, Ontario – A month after winning the NCAA title in the heptathlon, Wisconsin women's track and field senior Georgia Ellenwood picked up two major wins on Thursday at the Canadian National Track and Field Championships at George Fox Stadium.
Ellenwood won her first Canadian national title in the heptathlon thanks to her score of 6,026 points, marking the third time this year the Langley, British Columbia, native has scored more than 6,000 points in the heptathlon. She also won the Pan American Combined Events title, which was held concurrently with this year's Canadian meet.
The 2018 Big Ten Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year, Ellenwood began the meet with a time of 13.67 seconds in the 100 hurdles before soaring 5 feet, 8 3/4 inches (1.75 meters) in the high jump. She threw the shot put 40-3 1/2 (12.28 meters) before closing out the first day with a time of 24.28 in the 200 meters.
​​​​​​​Ellenwood began day two with a jump of 19-9 (6.02 meters) in the long jump before throwing the javelin 138-7 (42.25 meters). She finished second in the 800 meters in 2:15.66 to clinch the heptathlon victory.
