Wisconsin drops 3-1 decision to No. 2 Indiana

MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin (2-4-1, 0-1 B1G) certainly packed the McClimon Complex on Sunday afternoon to watch the contest between No. 2 Indiana (6-1, 1-0 B1G) and the Badgers. Unfortunately, the Cardinal and White fell in the match, 3-1 after quite the battle.

Sophomore Patrick Yim tallied his first career goal at a time in the second half when Wisconsin was absolutely dominating play. Off a corner from junior Noah Leibold, Yim located the bouncing ball in the box and sent a roller into the lower right-hand corner of the Hoosier net.

Indiana came out on fire in the match, a huge contributing factor in its win. The Hoosiers put up two goals early in the match to make it hard for the Badgers to overcome the deficit.

Indiana led Wisconsin 17-7 in shots and 4-3 in corners.

Up next: Wisconsin faces Maryland in College Park on Friday night at 7 p.m. (CT) for another Big Ten match and chance for the Badgers to prove themselves in a loaded conference.

"They're the second best team in the country for a reason. They're an extremely good team, senior-laden, a lot of special players. I thought the second goal was a back breaker before halftime. If we kept it at 1-0, do we give ourselves a chance? We cut the lead to 2-1 and then give up, can't say it any other away, it's a soft third goal, you can't give up that goal. We had to give ourselves a chance to potentially get back in that game and maybe we'd be playing right now. Congratulations to Indiana, very well coached, excellent team."
