Wisconsin greats to serve as Great Stirling Cross Country coaches
STIRLING, Scotland – Wisconsin Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Mick Byrne will serve as a cross country coach for Team USA this weekend alongside former Badger distance standout and 2004 World Cross Country Championships bronze medalist Kathy Butler at the Great Stirling Cross Country meet in Scotland.

Byrne, a 36-time coach of the year recipient, will serve as men's coach for Team USA. He will lead a team of senior men and senior and junior co-ed relay squads as they compete in this weekend's race. Notable male athletes competing under Byrne's direction include Olympians Leonard Korir, Hillary Bor and Ben Blankenship.

Two-time Olympian and 13-time All-American Kathy Butler will coach the women's squad, including the senior women and the senior and junior co-ed relay teams.

This weekend's meet will be broadcast live on USATF.TV+ and will begin at 7:15 a.m. CT.
