Junior named NCAA Second Star of the Week and WCHA Forward of the Week

MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women's hockey junior Daryl Watts earned a pair of accolades on Tuesday as the NCAA's leading scorer was named the NCAA Second Star of the Week and the WCHA Forward of the Week.

The 2018 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award winner put up a seven-point weekend, her third total, against the Huskies earning one goal, two assists in Friday's 5-3 win and two goals, two assists in Saturday's 6-2 victory.

Watts earned her first WCHA honors Oct. 14 after UW held a two-game victory sweep at Ohio State, and she claimed her second-straight seven-point weekend with two goals and five assists.

The Toronto native leads the Badgers and the NCAA in points this year with 41 thanks to 15 goals and the nation's best 26 assists, averaging 2.56 points per game.

As a member of Wisconsin's elite first line, Watts' linemates senior Abby Roque and sophomore Sophie Shirley make up the nation's next top point scorers with Roque at 33 and Shirley at 32.
