Turcotte notches two goals in loss to Mavericks
OMAHA, Neb. -- After a hard-fought win on the road last night, the No. 12 Badger men's hockey team (5-5-0, 0-2-0-0 Big Ten) dropped the series finale against the No. 20 Omaha Mavericks (5-2-1, 0-0-0-0 NCHC) losing 5-2.

Freshman forward Alex Turcotte scored both goals for Wisconsin, one in each of the first two periods.
It was a 1-1 game after one period and Wisconsin played some of its best hockey of the season in the second, but found itself trailing 3-2 after two.
Omaha took over in the third period, with a pair of goals in the first six minutes to put the game away.

Notes to know:
Head Coach Tony Granato
"You look at the schedule and the schedule has been tough. Parts of it we've handled really well, parts of it there's times we can say we should be making bigger strides to be more consistent."

Up next: Wisconsin will be back on home ice next weekend for the first time in three weeks when it welcomes the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (7-0-1, 3-0-1 Big Ten) for UW's second Big Ten series of the season. Puck drop is 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday night with Friday night's game on Fox Sports Wisconsin and a stream available Saturday night on BTN+.
Friday is jersey night. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite to the game. Saturday is the #UWTeddyToss presented by BMO Harris Bank. Fans can bring stuffed animals to throw on the ice after the game for Toys for Tots.
