Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard

On the team performance and crowd atmosphere
"Terrific effort from our guys. Extremely proud of how they battled, specifically that second half defensively and taking care of the ball. I thought the crowd was amazing and did a great job, the students were really into it. That is the electricity and the noise level we need in this place and it was definitely a boost for us.

The guys were really dialed in, and did a really good job defensively. Able to make some shots at the right time and a terrific job taking care of the ball. Ethan Happ was Ethan Happ, he was phenomenal."

On contributions from the whole team
"You look at our team and we have some consistent guys, names you hear all the time: Davison, Trice, Happ. But we've been able to rely on other people, the other night at Nebraska it was Charlie Thomas, tonight it was Aleem Ford. He gave us a huge boost, and Ford fit that category. He hadn't scored in three games so for him to come in and miss his first couple but keep firing and staying confident and give us that boost was huge."

On improvement from last Maryland game
"I think we were better in the ball screens and we were better at giving [Anthony Cowan Jr.] some resistance. And we didn't foul. We fouled too much at Maryland, and I think we did a better job of not settling for jump shots. We were able to attack the rim and draw fouls."

Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon

"We battled, I was really proud of my team tonight up until about seven minutes to go in the game. We had to overcome a lot. Great building with great players, unbelievable foul trouble. We just kept battling but in the end they thought that they made every shot, Ford made two huge three's, we made some mistakes in our zone, we were up six, they had back to back three's and tied it about the ten minute mark. And then they're really hard to guard, I mean when Happ's playing like that, they're really really hard... and I thought our defense was terrific at times. But when both our big guys are in foul trouble and you've got an All-American in Happ, they're hard to guard. So you've got to pick your poison and they made some shots late."
