Badgers return home for last meet before Big Ten Championships
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin track and field teams will return home to host their last indoor meet of the regular season on Friday at The Shell. The Red and White Classic is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. with the field events and the running events to follow at 5:30 p.m.

1. AMAZING ALICIA:Â At the Millrose Games, Alicia Monson, etched her name in school, NCAA, national, and international record books. Monson ran the 3K in 8 minutes, 45.97 seconds, which is the No. 3 time in NCAA history and shattered the school and Big Ten Conference records. For her efforts, she was named the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week, the first UW female to earn that honor during the track season, and was named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week.Â
2. ACTION AT ALEX WILSON: In addition to hosting the Red and White Classic, UW will send the quartet of Gabby DesRosiers, Alicia Monson, Alissa Niggemann and Bianca Stubler to Notre Dame to compete at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday. The group will compete in the distance medley relay at 10:40 a.m. as they look to earn a NCAA-qualifying mark in the event.Â
3. A PR-FILLED DAY: On the second day of the Iowa State Classic, every Wisconsin runner set a personal best. Freshman runners, Lucinda Crouch and Madison Mooney, set PRs in the women's mile. Danielle Bellino, Cailyn Biegalski and Elli Daniels each set personal bests in the 800 meters.Â
4.  DAVIS GOES THE DISTANCE: Amy Davis, made a big statement before championship season begins at the Iowa State Classic. She won the 5000 meters in 15 minutes, 47.80 seconds, the second best time in the Big Ten behind teammate Alicia Monson, and 15th best in the NCAA.

BIG TENS AND BEYOND:Â Following the Red and White Classic and the Alex Wilson Invitational, the Badgers will officially enter championship season, starting with the Big Ten Indoor Championships, which are scheduled to run through Friday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23. This year's Big Ten championships will be hosted by the University of Michigan and will take place at the U-M Indoor Track Building.
